Free 2026 Cardiology CPT Cheat Sheet

The 2026 Cardiology CPT Cheat Sheet is a 2-page reference covering cath, PCI, echo, electrophysiology, and the modifiers payers audit most. Built by AMS Solutions’ AAPC-certified coders who’ve handled cardiology billing since 1992.

This sheet covers where cardiology revenue actually leaks: missed modifier 26/TC splits on echo, and the 93016/93017/93018 component split on stress testing, missed prior authorizations on advanced imaging, and the modifiers payers audit most (25, 59, 50, LT/RT) — and when each one actually applies. Print it, post it next to the work queue, save it to your team’s coding folder. Free, no obligation.

What’s inside

CPT 2026 change (effective 1 January 2026): 92921, 92925, 92929, 92934, 92938 and 92944 were deleted. Branch work is now included in the base code for that major coronary artery, 92930 covers two or more distinct lesions with two or more stents in two or more segments or a bifurcation lesion treated in both the main artery and the side branch, and 92945 covers a chronic total occlusion treated by combined antegrade and retrograde approaches.

Managing the billing team?

If you run the practice or oversee billing, our guides for owners and managers cover the questions behind the codes: how to tell whether billing is performing, what your days in A/R should be, where revenue leaks, and how to compare billing partners. See resources for practice owners & managers →

Why your billing team will use this

Most cardiology practices we audit find recurring modifier 26/TC split errors on diagnostic tests — recoverable revenue that’s slipping through claim by claim. This sheet flags the patterns before they cost you the money.

Cardiology’s modifier and bundling rules are where most avoidable denials start — our outsourced medical billing services work the denials and the A/R so your coders can stay on the coding.
