Read this first — the maternity global package ends 1 January 2027. Under the AMA’s CPT 2027 maternity restructure, the global obstetric package is retired: 17 codes are deleted, 12 are new and 6 are revised, effective 1 January 2027. Obstetric care moves to four separately reported phases — antepartum, labor management, delivery and postpartum. The codes referenced on this page remain valid through 31 December 2026.
